We didn't make a note of this event last year, so I don't know if we've beaten the date or not, but we have finally succumbed on a horrid dark, miserable and wet day. We've gone completely mad and put the central heating on as well, might as well test it all together!
Addendum 6th November: the Rayburn went off again 4 days after it was lit, but has been relit today. Although the weather's set to continue mild(ish), it's forecast to be very overcast and damp, which makes the house feel chill and unpleasant if there's no heat at all. It also means the towels don't dry properly, something I hate!

Snap! We've had rain (plenty) every day this week - and more forecast through to Sunday. It hasn't been horrid and dark, though. Trust the Rayburn and CH don't give hassles...
